Date & Tamarind Chutney

Ingredients (Makes 3 - 4 cups)


3/4 cups chopped pitted dates, soaked in 1/2 cup water for 1 hr or more

1 1/2 cup tamarind puree/paste

1 1/4 cup brown sugar

1 Tbsp fennel seeds

1 tsp salt

1tsp pure chili powder

1 cup water

Pace all the ingredients in the blender except water. Blend into a smooth puree by slowly adding all the water.

This can be stored in the freezer for up to 6 months. Thaw at room temperature 5 - 6 hours before serving.
