Cousins wedding and parties happening these 3 days. Indian weddings are filled with, lot of relatives, chatting, dressing-up, music, dancing, children running around and of course plenty of food. It was vegetarian food from the region of Andra Pradesh.

Breakfast at Andra weddings consist of items such as “Pesarattu” (Mung bean dosa, with crispy onion layered on top) served with “Allam Pacchadi” (a spicy & sweet ginger chutney), “Uppuma” (cracked wheat polenta like dish), and a sweet version of the same. Coffee, savory & sweet snacks are served several times during wedding.

Lunch consist of at least 3 - 4 fresh pacchadis (hybrid between chutneys & fresh pickles) made with chillies, cucumbers, mangoes, green tomatoes and so on. The star of the vegetables served is definitely the “Kuthu Vankaaya” (Stuffed mini egg plants in oil). Generous amounts of “Pappu” (a thick lentil dish) & Ghee are served with rice . Lighter and soupy dishes such as “Pulusu” (Tamarind & Vegetable stew) or “Majjiga Pulusu” (Buttermilk stew) are served with rice as well. “Perugu Gaaralu” (Black Lentil Vadas in yogurt sauce) is a must. An exotic fried sweet called “Booralu” made by dipping sweet lentil dumplings in vada batter are served at least in one of the wedding meals.
